 Tiger Woods is currently number 1 golfer in the world. His real name is Eldrick Tont Woods and he is the best paid athlete in the world (about $100 millions only in 2010). He has all the tiles that he could get, winning : four times the Masters Tournament, three times the U.S. Open, three times the Open Championship and four times the PGA Championship. And these are only the major tournaments. He turned professional in 1996 and he is well-known for his long drives. He was coached by Butch Harmon and Hank Haney.


 Jack (William) Nicklaus or the “Golden Bear” has 18 titles in major tournaments, with four more than Tiger Woods: six times the Masters Tournament, four times the U.S. Open, three times the Open Championship and five times the PGA Championship. He also haves his own tournament, called “The Memorial Tournament”. Jack Nicklaus wrote his autobiography, called “My story”. He is also the author of some golf books where he give instructions : “Play Better Golf: The Short Game and Scoring”, “My Most Memorable Shots in the Majors” etc. Jack Nicklaus began his career in 1961 and now he has his own museum located in his hometown.


 Arnold Palmer is now 80 years old but he is still in the heart of golf lovers, who gave him the nickname “the king”. Arnold’s father workes as a greenskeeper at a local golf club so Arnold had the chance to play and learn golf. He turned professional in 1954 and he won several major events, including the Masters Tournament,U.S. Open, The Open Championship and PGA Championship. He also worked very hard to popularize the sport in the world. He was awarded by President Bush with the “Presidential medal of freedom”.


 Gary Player is also considered one of the greatest players of golf. His nickname is “the Black Knight”. Borned at Johannesburg, he turned professional at the age of 18. We won 9 major events: three times The Masters Tournament, just one time the U.S. Open (in 1965), three times the Open Championship and two times the PGA Championship. He has his own company, called Gary Player Design and he designs golf courses all over the world (in 35 countries).


 Bobby Jones was a golfer that never had the chance to turn professional. He was born in 1902 and he won 13 major championships, including the masters Tournament and The Open Championship.
